Short version: what LensAlert hears stays on your phone. Bluetooth data, device names, signal strength and your sightings history never leave this device. There is no account and no sign-in. Three things do leave the device and none of them describe what the app heard: anonymous usage statistics (which screens are opened, which steps are completed), anonymous crash reports, and a notification token. None of them is tied to you.
LensAlert is developed and operated by Avokado Labs ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with information on your device, and what — if anything — ever leaves it. It applies to the LensAlert iOS app and its widget and Apple Watch companion.
LensAlert listens for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) advertisements that nearby devices broadcast publicly, and compares them against a local database of known smart-glasses signatures. It reports that a matching signal was heard. It does not identify people, does not detect whether a device is recording, and does not indicate direction.
Nothing the app detects. No Bluetooth data, no location, no account, and no identifier that your device or operating system assigns. Specifically:
We collect anonymous statistics about how the app is used, through Amplitude, our analytics provider. This is the only data we receive about you, and it exists so we can see where people get stuck.
What is sent: the name of an in-app event and a small, fixed set of labels — for example that an onboarding step was completed, that a screen was opened, that the subscription screen was shown or closed, or that a purchase succeeded or failed. Each event carries the app version, the platform (iOS or Android) and the time.
What is never sent: anything the app detects. No Bluetooth advertisements, no device names or addresses, no signal strength, no distances, no sightings history, no labels you write, no location, no contacts, and no free text of any kind.
How it is tied together: by a random identifier the app generates on this installation. It is not your Apple ID, not your advertising identifier, and not an identifier your device or operating system provides — it means nothing outside this app. Deleting the app deletes it; installing again creates a new one, unconnected to the old.
LensAlert is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect anything from children, and the app asks for no personal information from anyone.
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the KVKK give you rights over personal data held about you — access, correction, deletion, and objection. We hold no account, no contact details and nothing the app detects, so for that data there is nothing to retrieve, correct or erase.
The anonymous usage statistics and crash reports are tied only to random per-installation identifiers, so we cannot look you up by name or email. If you want the records from your installation removed, delete and reinstall the app to break the link, or write to us with that identifier and we will ask Amplitude and Google to delete it. If you have written to our support address and want that correspondence deleted, ask us and we will delete it.
Deleting the app removes everything it stored on this device, including the random identifiers used for usage statistics and crash reports, and it invalidates the notification token. You can also clear the sightings history from inside the app at any time.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date.
