It helps if you tell us your iPhone model and iOS version, what you expected to happen, and what happened instead. We do not need — and never ask for — your Apple ID password or payment details.
LensAlert listens for the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) advertisements that nearby devices broadcast publicly, and tells you when a signal matches a known smart-glasses signature. Everything happens on your device.
Please be clear on the limits before you rely on it:
That is often correct behaviour rather than a fault: nearby glasses simply may not be advertising right now. To confirm the app itself is working, put a pair of smart glasses in its case, close the lid, wait a few seconds, then open the lid near your phone — that is when they advertise most reliably. Also check that Bluetooth is on in iOS Settings and that LensAlert has Bluetooth permission (Settings → LensAlert).
Background alerting is part of LensAlert Pro. Check that your subscription is active, that notifications are allowed for LensAlert, and that Focus or a Sleep schedule is not silencing them. iOS also wakes apps less often in Low Power Mode.
Distance is inferred from signal strength only. A device in a pocket or behind a body can read as much farther away than it is, and a clear line of sight reads closer. Treat it as "nearer" versus "farther", not as a measurement.
The widget shows the last scan result the app recorded, so run a scan once after installing or re-adding the widget. If it stays empty, remove the widget, force-quit the app, reopen it and add the widget again.
The watch mirrors the phone. Keep the phone nearby and unlocked once so the two can sync, and make sure LensAlert is installed on the watch in the Watch app on your iPhone.
Some signatures identify a manufacturer rather than an exact model, so a label may be broader than the device in front of you. If you believe something is matched wrongly, or a pair of glasses is not being recognised, email us the label shown and the model you were testing with — that is how the signature database gets better.
Scanning is free and unlimited. LensAlert Pro is an auto-renewing subscription (weekly or yearly) that unlocks alerts while the app is closed, the Live Activity, the widget and Control Center summary, the sightings history and device labels. Prices are shown in your local currency inside the app before you confirm.
LensAlert has no account and no ads, and what it hears stays on your phone. Anonymous usage statistics and crash reports are the only things that leave it, and neither carries detection data. The details are in the Privacy Policy. Deleting the app removes everything it stored; you can also clear the sightings history from inside the app.
Both go to avokadoapps@gmail.com. Reports that name a specific pair of glasses and what it was doing at the time are the most useful ones we get.
